About Wild Life Pet Treats
Hi, my name is Michael and I'm a mushroom farmer.
I began growing mushrooms during the COVID-19 pandemic, first as a hobby, then commercially as I began to take a deeper interest in the medicinal benefits of different strains of mushrooms.
Lucy, an old English sheepdog, arrived in winter 2023.
She had been re-homed several times after some false starts with other families, and needed a consistent place to live, with lots of space, lots of love, and lots of nutritious food.
I began making treats for her to boost her immune system and improve her gut health, as she had a lot of health problems when she arrived.
After researching what mushrooms could do to improve her health, and trying dozens of different combinations, Lucy immediately took to my freeze-dried attempts.
With continued use, I noticed how fast her fur grew back, and how thick and shiny her coat became.
Her endurance also improved during trips to the park, as did her mood around other dogs - she became much less combative and much more social.
Our veterinarian was also pleased - Lucy could be quite a grouch when getting her claws trimmed!
After a year of consistent improvement in both health and mood, I decided to scale up production of Wild Life Pet Treats and offered it to other pet owners. When their dogs and cats took to the treats as well, I built this site so Wild Life could benefit dogs and cats nationwide.
Wild Life Pet Treats are now proudly produced at In Good Company Kitchen, a municipally-licensed and inspected kitchen space in Oakville, Ontario.
Thanks so much for your support of Wild Life and its partnerships with my suppliers.
