Nutritional Information
Nutrient Density of Wild Life Pet Treats
You'll notice our treats are incredibly lightweight, and that's by design. We use a special freeze-drying process that removes all the water but leaves the nutritional integrity of our mushrooms and wild-caught fish almost perfectly intact.
Unlike high-heat cooking that can degrade vital proteins and vitamins, our method preserves up to 95% of the natural goodness. This creates a nutrient-dense, highly digestible treat that ensures your pet gets the most benefit from every bite. It's our promise of lightweight treats, heavyweight nutrition.
In April 2025, I sent a large sample of Wild Life Pet Treats to RL Food Labs in Washington State. They were able to assess the treat based on several important criteria.
The results I got back from the lab were a very pleasant surprise and surpassed my hopes and expectations.
I'll discuss each component of Wild Life Pet Treats in separate blog posts, and why each one is essential for the health of your pet, but for now, I can provide this chart and the following synopsis provided by the lab:
The pet treat sample demonstrates a well-balanced macronutrient profile with high fat and moderate protein and carbohydrate content. It features a strong presence of essential Omega fatty acids, particularly Omega-3s such as ALA, which are beneficial for skin, coat, and overall health in pets. The presence of beta-glucans and Vitamin K1 further supports immune and metabolic functions. Overall, the formulation appears nutritionally robust and suitable as a supplemental treat in a pet's diet.

WHY FREEZE DRIED?
Freeze drying is the final step in our process and is important for a few reasons:
- It prolongs the shelf life of the product
- It dries at a very low temperature, preserving the heat-sensitive compounds in our treat mix
- It removes 98% of the moisture so the treat will dissolve in your pet's mouth
- It's lightweight so it travels easily and ships to you cheaply
The removal of so much moisture concentrates the treat's flavour and its nutritional content. Your furry friend will be eating them right out of your hand.
And almost as soon as they do, each treat will dissolve in their mouths. Because of this, Wild Life is ideal for pets with sensitive stomachs.
